1. It grows on exposed or partially shaded siliceous rock, with a few known occurrences on serpentine rock . 2. Granite and serpentine rocks predominate, but the shores of Amboina Bay are of chalk and contain stalactite caves. 3. This cove is named after Soapstone ( or talc ), a type of serpentine rock found around the cove. 4. These rare plants have been isolated over space and time on serpentine rock near the summit of Red Mountain. 5. The plants may grow within the stream bed between the black or greenish serpentine rocks and in the gravel. 6. Its soil, developed on ultramafic, serpentine rock , promoted not a closed forest but an open landscape of shrub and grass. 7. The serpentine rock at the head of the Eel River is crushed to a green clay or shining black shales. 8. The Burgess branch of the river follows the fault with serpentine rocks on one side and nonserpentine rocks on the other. 9. It is sculpted from shiny green serpentine rock which is found in the immediate vicinty of where the figurine was unearthed. 10. However, drilling through the serpentine rocks is time-and labor-intensive, so many houses were built by conforming to the slope of the hill.
